(Diwalwal Gold Mining Project) Mineral Reservations are established by the President of the Philippines when the national interest so requires, upon the recommendation of the Director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary. The Mineral Reservations were administered by the MGB. However, with the objective of making the mineral reservations revenue-generating, its transfer to the PMDC seems to be the logical direction to take. The Mineral Reservation projects currently handled by the PMDC are the Diwalwal Gold Mining and Dinagat Chromite-Nickel Mining projects.
